Zenon Improvement Proposals (ZIPs): formal specifications for changes to the Network of Momentum — consensus, embedded contracts, standards, and process. Discussion, drafts, and status tracking.
Use this category to draft, discuss, and track ZIPs through their lifecycle: **Draft → Review → Accepted → Implemented** (or Rejected/Withdrawn).
**What belongs here**
- Draft ZIPs posted for community comment, following the standard ZIP format (field table, Abstract, Motivation, Specification, Rationale, Backward Compatibility, Reference Implementation, Security Considerations)
- Discussion threads on open drafts, including companion posts (tl;dr summaries, changelogs between revisions)
- Status updates as a ZIP moves to implementation and activation
**What doesn’t belong here**
- Early-stage ideas without a specification — start those in Development and graduate them here once there’s a concrete draft
- General protocol Q&A, node support, or implementation bug reports
**Guidelines**
- One topic per ZIP. Post revisions by editing the original post; summarize changes in a reply or linked changelog post so reviewers can follow the history.
- Title format: `ZIP-XXXX: ` once a number is assigned; `DRAFT: <title>` before that.
- Keep discussion technical and specific to the proposal. Broader design debates should link back to a Development thread.
