Good question. Sentinels are expensive to launch 5,000/50,000. If the goal is to have lots of them, we probably cannot rely on sentinels alone as public nodes. We discussed that here. Read that thread.

Pillars \> Full Node and Provide consensus and incentivized by the protocol Sentinel \> Full Node, costly to setup, their job is to relay messages and generate PoW links. They are compensated through protocol emissions. They are expensive to setup and “hard” to run. It will be difficult for the general public to run them so we cannot rely on Sentinels as “Public Nodes”. There won’t be enough of them. Public Nodes \> We need as many as possible …

Read this post. I don’t think the fee lane is fully vetted yet. We need to reconcile Alien’s latest thinking with the work on Dynamic Plasma.

> There has been a lot of discussion surrounding dynamic plasma lately, and different ideas have been presented by community members. I’ve spent some time researching the topic and I’ve attempted to combine some ideas in this post and present some ideas for a dynamic plasma implementation. I didn’t post this in the dynamic plasma thread, since I wanted to create a thread that focuses mainly on the pros/cons of the ideas presented in this post. Background Why do we need dynamic plasma Currently o…
